Yerevan /Mediamax/. Volume of money transfers to Armenia by means of commercial banks made 51.6bln AMD (274803 transfers) in the first quarter of 2009. As Mediamax was told in the press service of the Central Bank, in the accounting period, the net inflow of financial means by international transfer systems made 44bln AMD. As compared to the same period of 2008, the index cut down by 30% or for 18bln AMD. The average volume of one transfer made 188 thousand AMD, having cut down as compared to the first quarter of 2008 for 41 thousand AMD. In aggregate, money transfers to individuals of Armenia by means of commercial banks and payment-account companies made 86.5bln AMD in the first quarter of 2009, having cut down as compared to the same period of last year by 25.7%.
