Yerevan /Mediamax/. In 2008, counterfeit bonds and coins at the total sum of 999 thousand 300 AMD were revealed and withdrawn from circulation in Armenia. Mediamax reports that the Head of the General Department to Combat Organized Crime (GDCOC) of the Armenian Police Colonel Hunan Poghosyan said this in Yerevan today. According to him, the counterfeit currency bonds were mainly with the face value of 1000 and 5000 AMD and were produced on color copiers. Hunan Poghosyan admitted that counterfeit coins mainly with the face value of 200 and 500 AMD, are of high quality. At that he noted that the objects of counterfeit currency production have not been revealed. Head of GDCOC informed that last year 456 corruption and economic crimes were revealed in Armenia, while in 2007, their number made 289. The largest part falls on the share of corruption crimes, respectively 392 in 2008 and 171 in 2007. According to Poghosyan, in 2008, 63 cases of giving and accepting bribes were registered.
