Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenian government made a decision today to make a transition to quarterly planning of the state budget - 2009 in connection with the global financial-economic crisis. Mediamax reports that the Minister of finance Tigran Davtyan stated today that the Armenian government is shifting to rigid economy mode and will cut down expenses, which are not socially oriented. The government charged also the Minister of Finance with interrupting formation of a medium-term program of expenses for 2010-2012. The Minister of Finance stated that social expenses (pensions, salaries, benefits) at the sum of 252bln AMD, programs, important from economic point of view, and expenses in the sphere of defense and security, are not subject to redistribution. Head of the Ministry of Finance noted that the law on “State Budget of Armenia” is quite flexible a document and will allow using a set of tools to overcome the influences of the global financial-economic crisis. The Minister of Finance urged tax bodies securing this year tax collections at the level of 2008 index. Tigran Davtyan stated that 3bln AMD are left on the account of the government’s reserve fund, which will be spend “at a push”. Tweet Views 12913
