Yerevan /Mediamax/. Commission for the Protection of Economic Competition (SPEC) of Armenia announced today the start of strict control over prices in connection with the return of the Central Bank to floating exchange rate policy. As Mediamax was told in the press service of the Commission, CPEC Chairman Ashot Shahnazaryan at today’s special session charged the experts of the Commission with immediately starting monitoring over prices for essentials. Today, in the course of the day, cases of price increase for goods of the given group were registered and due to the interference of CPEC, they managed to stop the increase of prices by large managing subjects. The list of essentials includes 40 names of goods. CPEC urged large importers, organizers of retail trade and producers to refrain from ungrounded increase of prices. “The situation in the market is under strict control and in case of necessity the reaction of the commission will be immediate”, press service of CPEC stressed.
