Long-term investment in business and the role of bond issuances in attracting sustainable financing were among the key topics discussed at the IV Conference Capital Markets Armenia international conference.

Elen Karimyan, Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Converse Bank, spoke at the conference with a presentation titled “The Entry of the Real Sector into the Capital Market: Meaning, Experience and Prospects.” She outlined the vision for the development of Armenia’s capital market from both B2B and B2C perspectives.

Today, banks hold the largest share of bond issuances in Armenia’s capital market, forming an already established segment. However, the next important stage in the market’s development is the entry of real sector companies, which will further expand investment opportunities and deepen the market. Bonds issued by companies with recognizable brands often attract strong interest from retail investors. For many individuals, a first small investment becomes the starting point of a broader investment culture and the gradual formation of personal investment portfolios.

“The capital market needs new issuers and new names. Funds raised through corporate bond issuances are not an alternative to bank loans, but a strategic complement. A balanced combination of financing instruments creates a more sustainable financial model for companies. At the same time, issuing bonds helps businesses strengthen relationships with their customers and increase loyalty to their products and services,” noted Elen Karimyan.

Representatives of Globbing and Vardanants Medical Center also participated in the event, sharing their experience of effective cooperation with Converse Bank in the issuance and placement of bonds.
