Wizz Air announces the launch of a brand-new route connecting Gyumri, Armenia, with Larnaca, Cyprus.

From September 30, flights will operate twice weekly – every Tuesday and Saturday until 25 October, and every Thursday and Sunday from 30 October onwards. Tickets are already available at wizzair.com and via the WIZZ mobile app, with fares starting as low as €14.99.

“The new connection will operate from Shirak Airport, Armenia’s second largest international airport, serving an important region of the country and further strengthening Wizz Air’s growing presence in Armenia,” the news release reads.

“With the recent announcement of Yerevan base in Armenia, we cannot be more proud to continue our growth in the country and open new station in our network in Gyumri, important cultural hub of the country. This year we already carried more than 600 thousand passengers between Armenia and Europe and planning to double this amount by the end of the year with the addition of Larnaca route. Armenia and Cyprus are both important emerging markets for Wizz Air, and this new route demonstrates our commitment to providing travellers in Armenia with more affordable and diverse travel opportunities,” said Anastasia Novak, Corporate and Sustainability Communications Manager at Wizz Air.
