Ереван /Медиамакс/. “Ameriabank” concluded an agreement with “Rosgosstrakh-Armenia” Insurance Company on insuring all deposits of individuals. Mediamax reports that, speaking at a news conference in Yerevan today, Chairman of the Board of Directors, General Director of the bank Artak Hanesyan informed that both the already existing and the new deposits of individuals, which exceed 2mln AMD, will be insured, since the deposits under the given sum are automatically insured by the Deposit Insurance Fund of Armenia. Artak Hanesyan informed that, as of December 1, the volume of term deposits in the bank made 10.2bln AMD, having increased, as compared to the beginning of the year, for 6.5bln AMD, and the deposits of individuals make about 30% of the bank’s deposit portfolio. “At present, the sum of individuals’ deposits, already insured at “Rosgosstrakh-Armenia” and exceeding 2mln AMD, makes about $8mln (2.44bln AMD)”, Artak Hanesyan stated. He assured that October outflow of deposits from the banking system did not affect “Ameriabank” and noted that from the beginning of October the deposits have increased for 3.5bln AMD. Talking about “Ameriabank” plans for 2009, Artak Hanesyan informed that the bank plans an abrupt increase of volumes of deposits and small and medium enterprise crediting, to do which, it intents to attract means from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and other international financial structures.
