Yerevan /Mediamax/. Many Yerevan petrol stations stopped selling petrol today because of absence of fuel##.

Mediamax reports that certain Yerevan petrol stations are closed today, and late August 11, the majority of petrol stations in Yerevan sold no more than 10 liters of petrol per a consumer.

Marketing Director of “Flash” Company Mushegh Yelchyan stated in an interview to Mediamax today that the trains with petrol for Armenia stay for long in the territory of Georgia, since the Georgian side is afraid that explosive loads may undergo bombing.

He informed that fuel is supplied to Armenia now through many difficulties, as a result of which the deficit appeared.

“Today we managed to import 500 tons of petrol, 3000 tons more still remain in the territory of Georgia now, since its supply is yet being delayed”, Mushegh Yelchyan.

Commenting on the request of Mediamax on the reason why the quantity of fuel sale by petrol stations is limited, Mushegh Yelchyan stated that “this way the importers try to avoid overcharge resale”. According to him, the petrol stations of “Flash” Company at present completely fill the petrol tanks of transport means, but do not sell petrol in cans.

Mushegh Yelchyan noted that yesterday, the Company sold 2,5 times more petrol than it usually does. At that he stated that growth of prices for petrol in Armenia is not expected. “On the contrary, after the settlement of the situation, decrease of prices is likely to take place because of decrease of prices for oil in the world markets”, Mushegh Yelchyan stated.

The press service of another importer of petrol to Armenia, “Mika” Corporation, also informed that the loads with petrol stay in the territory of Georgia for long.

Mediamax notes that about half of all the cars in Armenia use natural gas as fuel. In particular, natural gas becomes fuel for taxis and fixed-run minibuses, as well as for many private cars. The press service of “ArmRosGazprom” informed that the volumes of supplies to gas stations have not been cut down.
