Yerevan /Mediamax/. Commission for Protection of Economic Competition## (CPEC) of Armenia continues the query on the facts of possible violation of competition rules in the banking sphere.

Mediamax reports that the procedure was initiated basing on the appeal of the Ex-Chairman of the Central Bank Tigran Sarkisian, who is the Armenian Prime Minister at present.

The CB Chairman, in particular, noted that while providing financial services, certain banks set pra precondition to use services of certain insurance, assessment or other companies, which may evidence violation of competition rules.

As CPEC Spokeswoman Armine Udumyan told Mediamax today, the Commission heard Russian expert Olga Olenkina, aiming at comparing the banking legislations of Armenia and Russia. During the session with the participation of representatives of the CB, commercial banks and the Chairman of the Union of Armenian Banks Emil Soghomonyan, the Russian expert presented her conclusion, according to which manifestations of anti-competitive agreements are evident in the banking system of Armenia.

According to the Spokesman, the administrative procedure continues, and the final decision will be made at one of the nearest sessions of CPEC.
