Yerevan /Mediamax/. Chairman of the French Credit Agricole Group Rene Carron## congratulated Tigran Sarkisian on his appointment for the position of the Armenian Prime Minister.

As Mediamax was told in the press service of the government, Carron’s message, in particular, reads:

“With great pleasure, I learnt about your appointment for the position of the Prime Minister of Armenia. We repeatedly had occasions to appreciate your professional strictness, ability to hear and open thinking. In the period of your chairmanship, the Central Bank and the banking system of Armenia marked great progress, which became an important component of your country’s development. You know well about the role of Credit Agricole in formation and development of ACBA Bank: in the beginning it was consultation assistance and qualification of the working staff, later on – trade and system cooperation, and finally - strategic participation of 28% of shares in the bank’s capital, which you approved in October of 2006”.

Mediamax notes that in fall of 2006, Credit Agricole Group purchased 28% of the shares of the Agricultural Cooperative Bank of Armenia (ACBA-Bank), which was renamed into “ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank”.
