The Central Bank of Armenia has issued 3 collector coins dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the birth of renowned Armenian landscape and portrait painting master Yeghishe Tadevossian, the 125th anniversary of the birth of prominent Armenian actor Hrachia Nersisyan, and the 100th anniversary of the birth of famous French filmmaker, writer of Armenian origin Henry Verneuil.

The obverse of the coin dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Yeghishe Tadevossian bears a fragment from his “Justine, the painter’s wife” (1903) painting. The reverse side features fragments from Yeghishe Tadevossian’s “Self-portrait” (1933) and “Araqelots Church on the Sevan Island” (Sketch, 1934) paintings.

The obverse of the coin dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Hrachia Nersisyan bears a fragment of the bas-relief on the memorial dedicated to Hrachia Nersisyan (author – Stepan Kyurkchyan). The reverse side features a portrait of Hrachia Nersisyan (author – Nerses Kirakosyan).

Nominal value: AMD 10,000; metal/alloy - silver 900; weight – 8.6g; quantity – 300. Designed by Lusine Lalayan.

The obverse of the coin dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Henry Verneuil bears images of Order of the French Legion of Honor, Parajanov’s Thaler and Cesar prizes awarded to Verneuil. The reverse side features a portrait of Verneuil, a videotape and the fragments of the posters of the “Forbidden Fruit” (1952) and “It Happened All Night” (1960) films.
