As of May 5, the total available amount of government funds allocated for economic and social assistance, which is aimed at mitigating the consequences of COVID-19 epidemic in Armenia, makes over AMD 62 billion.

Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan announced the index during the government meeting.

Assistance has been provided to around 24,000 business entities and 360,000 individuals.

The number of recipients of government assistance, which covered utility fees, has surpassed 1 million.

The participants of the meeting discussed new ideas for mitigation of the consequences of COVID-19 epidemic, which concerned extension of the target groups of government assistance, utilization of economic assistance tools, and targeted help for family-operated farms.
