Yerevan /Mediamax/. Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) fined today “ArmenTel” for 4mln drams.

Mediamax reports that “ArmenTel” is fined for violating the decision of PSRC “On order of provision of voice services through public e-networks to other licensed entities”.

As the Chairman of PSRC Robert Nazarian stated today, starting from October 1 of 2007 up to January of 2008, “ArmenTel” Company violated the given decision, not providing direct lines of communication to service-providers.

Representative of “ArmenTel” Irina Trofimova informed that in the course of the recent months the Company carries out active work on establishing technical possibilities for providing direct lines and by now it has signed 28 agreements with service-providers. According to him, after the liberation of the market, the Company needed time for technical equipment.

“The Company set for itself a task to make the problem be finally solved, and today “ArmenTel” is ready to consider with all service-providers the possibilities of providing communication lines”, Irina Trofimova stated.

PSRC Chairman gave positive assessment to the activity of the Company in the course of the recent two months. At that, Robert Nazarian stated that, not applying the corresponding sanctions, PSRC will violate the legislation.

The Head of the Commission also recommended “ArmenTel” Company to be more transparent as to the media, in particular, not to conceal the reasons for dismissing representatives of the leading staff.
