Newly appointed Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has told Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan that “the new government of Russia is inclined towards constructive relations and consistent contacts with Armenian partners”.“It should be noted that Russia and Armenia are connected by very close, allied relations. We collaborate in the sectors of energy, industry, transport, culture and humanitarian aid,” said Mishustin. He has underlined that Russia is Armenia’s chief partner with 26% share in the country’s foreign trade.“Currently, around 2000 Russian companies operate in Armenia. The turnover grew by 11% in 2018, reaching USD 2 billion, as you have mentioned. The growth carried into 2019 as well: the turnover in January-November 2019 increased by 17.6%. I believe we need to consolidate this positive tendency and find new areas for cooperation,” said Mikhail Mishustin. Nikol Pashinyan has underlined that “the relations between our two countries are developing according to the plan, that is, very well”.“Certainly, our governments and countries have always had and will continue to have a good, warm relationship, but I believe that it is always possible to take our relations to a new level. We are going to make it happen in cooperation with you,” said the Prime Minister of Armenia.Pashinyan has noted he hopes that Mikhail Mishustin’s government will maintain the current economic dynamics in relations with Armenia.“I anticipate meeting you soon in Yerevan. As I have mentioned earlier, this year the Armenian capital hosts one of the sessions of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council,” concluded Nikol Pashinyan. Tweet Views 18669
