U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) sent consultants to Azerbaijan for rendering technical assistance to the National Bank of Azerbaijan (NBA), Director of the Statistics and Research Department of NBA Emin Huseynov stated.

Mediamax reports referring Trend that the consultation services will be provided in five directions, among which the increase of efficiency of staff management, elaboration and implementation of monetary policy for NBA, banking control, combating money laundering and IT implementation.

“The foreign experts will help us in the elaboration of a methodology for analyzing the financial stability, for a diagnostic analysis of the central data base of the National Bank, economic modeling, holding general trainings on macroeconomic theory” Emin Huseynov stated.

Technical assistance is meant to be provided for two years. This is already the second year that USAID renders NBA technical assistance. The first program of assistance concluded in June of 2007. Within the framework of the new program, technical assistance will be meant for not only the National Bank, but for the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan as well.
