Central Bank of Armenia has issued “5 Years of Eurasian Economic Union” silver collector coin.The bank has noted that the nominal value of the coin is AMD 1000 and the weight reaches 33.6 grams. Central Bank has issued 500 of these coins.The Treaty on creation of Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) came into force on January 1, 2015.The EAEU member-states are the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation.The jubilee year of 2019 marks the 5th anniversary of signing the EAEU Treaty and the 25th anniversary of envisioning the idea of Eurasian integration.In 2019, the regular meeting of the Eurasian Supreme Economic Council will be hosted by Armenia.The obverse side of the coin bears the coat of arms of Armenia and the images of sails and stars corresponding to quantity of the EAEU member-states.The reverse side bears the EAEU logotype and stylized images of the EAEU member states’ flags.The coin was designed by Eduard Kurghinyan and minted in the Royal Dutch Mint.As items of collection, the collector coins are issued in very restricted quantities and are not reissued.Numismatists, collectors and all interested persons can buy the Armenian collector coins in the sales salon “Numismatist” which is in the building of the Central Bank of Armenia and is open for everyone.
