In 2019 Philip Morris was awarded the title of the Top Employer in Armenia for the first time. The company received the same award in 50 countries, including ones in Europe, thanks to the hard-working, talented, diverse and challenging big family of Philip Morris.
 
Being the Top Employer means to provide the best conditions possible for each individual employee. In the interview with Banks.am the employees of the company’s Armenian branch talk about their experience.

Margarita Hovhannisyan, the company’s Human Resources executive has managed to go on five maternity leaves during the 18 years in Philipp Morris and successfully return to work.

“Of course, you’ll ask – isn’t it difficult to combine work in such a serious global corporation and a big family? Certainly, it’s not easy, but as my husband likes to say: “Let easier things to the weak.”

Margarita says she has full, active workdays, which are always different; there is always something new to learn, interesting projects, and new people every day. With all that, she is a happy mom of five children.

“Moms, who have had this anxiety, will understand me. It is very difficult to leave your 5-6-month-old baby with whom you have been inseparable, for a whole day and go to work; it is a big stress for the mother and the baby. I have managed to avoid that stressful situation as I have always had the freedom of the adapting period. ”

Margarita notes, that Philip Morris have created all the conditions so that young mothers are able to return to work as easily as possible. During all the five times, colleagues have waited and supported her.

“Philip Morris gives an option of a flexible work schedule, it is possible to work from home, when necessary.”

“We have adopted the wonderful culture of teaching each other and sharing our experience, which allows substituting each other. This culture creates a win-win situation, because it is very comforting to know, that you will always receive support. On the other hand, you are constantly gaining new experience and skills.”
