In 2018, Converse Bank will support the undertaking of Gabriel Sundukyan National Academic Theatre – the establishment and accomplishment of Black Box theater.

The bank noted that “this type of theater, which has no analogue in Armenia, can be used for more performances due to its simple and yet dynamic solutions.”

Generally, the bank focuses on innovative projects both in the business environment and in cultural and educational sectors. This cooperation and involvement in Sundukyan Theatre’s several exciting activities as the main supporter is of great importance to us,” said Gohar Harutyunyan, a member of Converse Bank’s Management Board.

With Converse Bank’s support, Sundukyan Theater has already presented to its audience Hakob Paronyan’s “The Honorable Beggars”, with a new and unexpected interpretation.

“The issues raised in Paronyan’s “The Honorable Beggars” are also relevant today. It has long been an inseparable part of theaters’ repertory both in the capital of our country and in marzes. The new performance will differ from the previous ones by its solutions and innovative approach,” said Vardan Mkrtchyan, Director of Sundukyan Theater, noting that the performance would be interesting for the young generation as well due to its dynamism and new solutions.

“Just like in business, within its social responsibility initiatives the bank will focus on young people. This performance will be particularly appealing for the youth and will be a unique tool for attracting them towards the theater. It is the duty of each and every one of us to make young people closer to the theater. Another initiative by the theater will be launched for the pupils of Eurnekian secondary school of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin established by the bank’s shareholder Eduardo Eurnekian,” added Gohar Harutyunyan.
