Yerevan, June 15 /Mediamax/. In the first six months of 2007, the profit of “Armeconombank” made 700mln drams, exceeding the last-year index for 40%.

Mediamax reports that the Executive Director of “Armeconombank” David Sukiasian said this today, speaking during the annual meeting of the bank’s share-holders.

In 2006, the profit of “Armeconombank” made 1bln 571mln drams, exceeding the index of 2005 for 30%. The assets of “Armeconombank” in 2006 made 43bln 952mln drams (growth – 26,4%).

In the first half of 2007, the credit portfolio of the bank made 23bln 547mln (growth – 17,5%), the assets – 60bln drams (growth – 36,7%).

In the end of 2006, “Armeconombank” had 45 641 customers, and according to the data of the first half of 2007, their number made 53 thousands.

By the end of last year, “Armeconombank” had 40 930 holders of plastic cards, and in June 2007, their number reached 47 thousands. 42,6% of ArCa plastic cards, emitted in Armenia, fall on the share of “Armeconombank”.

In 2006, the bank opened 4 new branches: “Achapniak”, “Gogavan”, “Nork-Marash” and “Russia”.

David Sukiasian noted that it is the second year that “Armeconombank’ is announced to be the best agent as to the management of the internal state debt.
