Today Yerevan hosted the summarization of the results of “Private Sector Development South Caucasus” programme, realized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).GIZ informed that the programme was implemented on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) over 2014 - 2017. On April 1, the programme entered a new phase with a different title – “Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training South Caucasus” (PSD TVET).“Promoting technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in the sectors relevant for employment is a key driver of sustainable economic growth. This is what we have been actively supporting and will continue doing within upcoming 3 years”, said Wilhelm Hugo, Team Leader Armenia of “Private Sector Development and Technical Vocational Education and Training” (PSD TVET) programme. According to him, in the past 3 years they actively worked in the fields of wine, tourism and precision engineering/IT in Armenia. They will continue activities in TVET to develop qualification offers in specifically those sectors based on labour market demands.“Our approach is to boost private sector and education cooperation in line with the needs of TVET main partners in Armenia and synergise our efforts with them to reach our goals.
