CPM (Collection Premiere Moscow) International Fashion Exhibition will take place between August 31 and September 3 at Expocentre in Moscow, where Armenian 5900BC fashion brand will take part for the third time.Created within the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) project, 5900BC will present its fourth collection for season Spring/Summer 2017 - “Summertime Dreams”, to be showcased through runway.According to UNIDO, the exhibition will be attended by 20,000 visitors from thirty-three countries, including a large number of fashion producers and sales specialists.“Continuous participation in CPM Moscow has already yielded tangible results. The Armenian high quality produce raised interest among leading Russian brands and fashion houses. Many of them visited Armenia to see the production sites of beneficiary companies, examine their production capacities and discuss perspectives for cooperation,” UNIDO noted.The organization informed that 5900BC signed the first contract with one of the largest retail chains in Russia, producing 30 collections annually, and exporting Armenian company, creating long-term cooperation perspectives. Orders were placed by one of the outstanding fashion houses in Russia that plans to present the new collection in October 2016 in Milan, Italy.“UNIDO is supporting Armenian garment producers through facilitating establishment of new partnership opportunities with leading fashion houses in the region and represent the Made-in-Armenia products in the worldwide fashion center in Milan. UNIDO is providing technical assistance to Armenian pilot beneficiary companies in developing samples and preparing price offers for potential buyers, as well as facilitates negotiation processes,” UNIDO stated, adding that negotiations with the other potential buyers are underway.5900BC brand was created as a part of the UNIDO project “Improving competitiveness of export-oriented industries in Armenia through modernization and market access”, implemented in close cooperation with Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia and Development Foundation of Armenia, and aiming to maintain and increase local textile and clothing enterprises’ domestic market share, support the development and modernization of SMEs.The project is funded by the Government of the Russian Federation. Eight Armenian enterprises have come together under one brand “5900BC”.The name of the brand is symbolic as one of the oldest discovered clothes in the world is a woman’s skirt created 5900 year ago in Areni region, Armenia.
