Chairman of the US House Committee on Small Business Steve Chabot, currently on a regional visit to Armenia, pointed out the issues in the SME sphere at the meeting with Armenian Minister of Economy Artsvik Minasyan.

American Congressman attached importance to availability of capital, reduction of bureaucratic procedures, simplification of tax code, implementation of reforms in public purchase system and issues of intellectual property rights in the development of SMEs, and expressed his readiness to assist.

US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills noted in his turn that the United States is ready to work on strengthening business and trade ties between the two countries.

“For this purpose, we formed the United States-Armenia Council on Trade and Investment, which is a high-level platform to explore trade relations between our countries,” Ambassador said.

The parties also touched upon “Made in Armenia” business forum to be held soon in the US.
