Georgian news agency BusinessPressNews (BPN) informs with reference to its sources that the actual owner of 50% of Armenia airline company shares is the head of Armenia government Hovik Abrahamyan. BPN tells about a recent interview that Directors Board President of Georgian Airways and Armenia airlines Director Tamaz Gaiashvili gave to Armenian media, where he announced that regular flights would start in April.During the interview, Tamaz Gaiashvili expressed an opinion that Armenian government should refuse from the open skies policy it adopted almost 3 years ago, and support national airlines.“I believe that Georgians and Armenians need a transitional period. Let us develop for around 50 years, and the we can transit to open skies. At present, it’s strictly necessary to regulate the sphere. No businessmen can survive in the market if the government doesn’t interfere,” stated Tamaz Gaiashvili.According to BPN, Tamaz Gaiashvili said that Armenia airlines shares belong to “the citizens of Armenia”, and “a small percent belongs to me”.
