9 Iranian banks will join the Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunications SWIFT system.

TASS quotes Governor of Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif, who said that financial institutions joining SWIFT include Mellat, Melli Iran, Tejarat Bank, the Bank of Industry and Mines, Iran Postal Bank, Export Development Bank of Iran, as well as Bank Refah Kargaran Tehran.

Earlier 2 public Iranian banks- Maskan and Keshavarzi have also joined SWIFT, as well as private- Dey, Saman, Pasargad and Parsian banks.

SWIFT availability had been limited for 30 Iranian banks in 2012 due to sanctions against Tehran.
