This year, Asian Development Bank (ADB) is marking the 10th anniversary of its operation in Armenia. On this occasion, Yerevan today hosted a 2-day conference organized by the bank during which Armenian and foreign experts presented local and international practices in project management. “I am thankful to everyone who has contributed to elaboration and development of projects funded by the ADB in Armenia. Success would be impossible without skillful and experienced project managers. Armenia needs such managers and our conference will focus on this matter”, said ADB Country Director at Armenia Resident Mission David Dole. ADB’s loans issued for Armenia are aimed at transport, water supply, water drainage and energy sectors as well as improvement of business environment and women entrepreneurship. Senior Portfolio Management Officer at ADB regional office Areg Barseghyan told journalists that as of October 2015, the financial organization has issued USD1.04bln loan to Armenia including projects at USD133mln in the private and USD910mln in the public sector.ADB funded implementation of North-South Corridor, sustainable urban development, water supply and water drainage as well as solid waste management projects. One of the private sector projects funded by the bank is the program for Sevan-Hrazdan Cascade reconstruction as well expansion of Zvartnots airport. According to David Dole, the ADB will continue supporting development of Armenia’s domestic transport communication, urban development and improvement of energy and seismic security. Tweet Views 13550
