Yerevan, October 17 /Mediamax/. 4 out of 21 Armenian banks turned to international rating agencies to be assigned a rating - “Armeconombank”, “ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank”, “Inecobank” and “VTB-Armenia Bank”. Mediamax reports that the representatives of the Moody’s rating agency are already in “Armeconombank”, and it is expected that a rating will be assigned to the bank in the course of one and half a month. “ACBA-Credit Agricole Bank” and “Inecobank” hold negotiations with Fitch Ratings and Moody’s Rating Agencies, and the “VTB-Armenia Bank” - with Fitch. Mediamax reports that 5 other Armenian banks (“Ararat Bank”, Armenian Development Bank, “Prometey” Bank, “ITB International Trade Bank” and “Unibank”) plan to turn for a rating to international rating agencies by the end of this year or next year. Fitch assigned Armenia BB- (BB minus) sovereign credit rating with a Stable Outlook in early June, 2006. In mid August it revised upwards the Country Ceiling for Armenia from the BB- (BB minus) level to BB level.
