Yerevan, October 13 /Mediamax/. The annual trade turnover of the Visa International in Armenia makes $16mln.

Mediamax reports that the Regional Manager of the Visa International for the CIS states Svetlana Georbelidze said this today, speaking at the International Interbank Conference “Money Transfers. Retail Banking Services” in Yerevan, which was organized by the “Planet Diaspora” Company (Russia) and the “ANELIK – money transfers” system.

The total annual turnover of Visa in Armenia makes $100mln, and the quantity of the cards - 68 thousands.

7 Armenian banks represent Visa member-banks: ACBA Credit Agricole Bank, “Anelik”, “Areximbank”, “VTB-Armenia Bank”, “Conversebank”, “HSBC Bank Armenia” and “Unibank”.

Among the Visa cards, most popular in Armenia are Visa Classic - 48% and Visa Electron - 47%, and the number of owners of Visa Gold and Visa Business makes only 4,9% and 0,1% from the whole amount.

Svetlana Georbelidze stated that 70% of the Armenian Visa cards are actively used abroad and only 30% - inside the country.

Talking about the plans of Visa International in Armenia, Svetlana Georbelidze noted that the company intends to expand the net of acceptance of Visa cards in the whole territory of the republic.
