Yerevan, September 20 /Mediamax/. The Minister of Trade and Economic Development of Armenia Karen Chshmaritian stated in Yerevan today that the main task of the government is the introduction of informational technologies into the real economy sector.

Mediamax reports that speaking at the International “Informational and Telecommunication Innovational Technologies” Conference today, Karen Chshmaritian stated that lately the speed of development of the IT-Technologies in Armenia considerably activated. According to the Minister, a few years ago it was difficult to foresee the interest of such giants as Microsoft, SUN Microsystems и Alcatel for Armenia.

The Sales Director of SUN Microsystems Lefteris Papakostas stated today that the Company is going to actively cooperate with the Armenian “Enterprises Incubator” Foundation. He noted that SUN Microsystems are planning to open a JAVA laboratory and an Integration Center in Armenia.

The Director of the “Enterprises Incubator” Foundation Bagrat Yengibarian stated that in 2006 the export of the IT-products from Armenia will make over $60mln. In 2005, the same index stood at $40mln.
