Yerevan, September 12 /Mediamax/. The new arrival hall of the International “Zvartnots” Airport, the opening of which took place today, will start serving passengers on September 14. As the Director of the “International Airports of Armenia” CJSC Juan-Pablo Gechidjian stated in Yerevan today, the new arrival hall fully meets international standards. According to him, 12 cabins for frontier guards are arranged here instead of the former 6, there are also 2 luggage roads, which will be able to simultaneously serve 4 flights, renovated computers, etc. Juan-Pablo Gechidjian noted that the new arrival hall is able to serve 800-1000 passengers in an hour. He stated that the “International Airports of Armenia” Company already invested $35mln in the reconstruction of the “Zvartnots” Airport. Juan-Pablo Gechidjian informed that the passengers’ terminal will be completely put into operation in May 2007. The Company intends to spend $180mln on construction of the whole terminal. Te terminal provides for the construction of a salon for outgoing passengers, a waiting room, and a platform for 5 telegangways.
