Yerevan, August 30 /Mediamax/. On the threshold of the new academic year the third Cisco Network Academy started its work in Armenia. As Mediamax was told in the representative office of the Cisco Systems in Russia and CIS, the Academy opened in Yerevan, based on the scientific-educational NGO “Center for Advanced Technologies Research”. The outright educational process will start on September 1. The first enrolment of the Academy consists of 50 people - students and teachers of local Higher Educational Institutions and IT-specialists of local companies. The Program of the Cisco Network Academies provides for preparation of student having different professions in the sphere of design, creation and support of information technologies for the local, regional national and international companies. The students will pass a course for specialists of network technologies (Cisco Certified Network Associate – CCNA), and after the course will get corresponding certificates. Earlier, there were opened Cisco Network Academies in Armenia under the Yerevan State Engineering Institute (regional) and based on the Polytechnic Institute of Gyumri (local). At present both of the Academies successfully function. The representative office of the Cisco Systems in Russia and CIS stated that the interest in opening Cisco Network Academies was expressed by many Higher Education Institutions of Armenia, thus, it is quite probable that the number of the Network Academies in the republic will grow in the nearest future. “The Telecommunications Systems of Armenia develop rapidly, but at the same time there is a serious need for fully qualified specialists, capable of developing effective network solutions and to ensure reliable work of the telecommunication equipment.
