Armenian Minister of Economy Karen Chshmarityan said today that as of now, there is no need to change Armenia’s economic growth forecast for 2014. Commenting on the fact the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has changed Armenia’s economic growth forecast by reducing it to 2.5%, the Minister said:“The IMF has a certain forecast methodology which is related to decline risks in global economy. Thus, they are always being very cautious in those calculations”.Karen Chshmarityan also said that the mutual sanctions imposed by the West and Russia will have certain impact on other countries, but it’s yet too early to say to what extent it will impact Armenia.
