First robot of Russia-based robot manufacturer Promobot has begun its work in one of the bank branches in Simferopol airport. The robot can register a bank card and open an account. Promobot company’s development director Oleg Kivokurtsev told TASS about it.“Russia-based Promobot company and Russian National Commercial Bank have created a robot for registering bank cards. Now, the guests and residents of the Republic of Crimea may get a bank card and open an account in the local branch of the bank quickly and safely,” the agency’s interlocutor said.Robots may already be noticed in branch offices of different banks, but according to the developers, this is the first robot which not only provides consulting services but banking services as well.Promobot was founded in 2015 in Perm. The robots of the company work in 43 countries as managers, promoters, consultants, guides and concierges, replacing or complementing “alive” staff. All of the products of the company are developed and produced in Russia.This year a Russian robot has been operated in the chain of Armenian “Ideal” stores consulting the buyers on Armenian and Russian languages. The robot’s artificial intelligence analyzed and memorized 120,000 trading positions. According to the developers, today it is the biggest volume of data about products in the world used in the robot. The company signed a contract on pilot project with the National Bank of Oman. The contract concerned installation of robot consultants at the bank’s branches. Russian robots were to consult clients, tell them about the bank’s services, answer questions and help fill in documents and applications, thus easing some of the workload off the bank staff.
