The parent company of Russian Alfa-Bank - ABH Holdings S.A. (headquartered in Luxembourg) has invested in fintech startup with Russian origins ANNA GBP 17.5m (around USD 21m) in exchange for the majority share in the fintech.

Bloomchain.ru reports that Anna was launched in 2017.  ANNA is for Absolutely No Nonsense Admin.

The startup was created by co-founders of digital Tochka Bank and accounting service Knopka Boris Dyakonov and Eduard Panteleev, former Alfa-Bank manager Vyacheslav Akulov, as well as businessmen Nikita Filippov and Andrey Pachay.

ANNA targets small and medium-size businesses in Great Britain. The fintech company is essentially a finance management service for small companies and freelancers.


ANNA clients can send and receive payments, issue invoices, monitor taxes and make other transactions via the mobile app. The latter is equipped with a chatbot that can recognize documents and reference details and follow commands of the user. For instance, the bot can calculate taxes or pay bills at the user’s request.

Since foundation, the startup has raised GBP 36.5m (around USD 44.5m). At the moment, ANNA is valued at USD 110m.

ABH Holdings S.A. has invested in the startup to help it enter new segments of the market. When the deal is closed, ANNA will continue operating as an independent brand and the new financing will be used for expansion beyond Great Britain. In particular, ANNA intends to start operating in Europe through Amsterdam Trade Bank, owned by ABH Holdings S.A.
