Tinkoff has announced the launch of Russia’s first superapp, which is designed to fulfill virtually any task in finance, recreation and lifestyle.

Tinkoff has said in a press statement that as the superapp evolves, it will combine hundreds of functions and services of Tinkoff and its partners, leading Russian companies. The superapp is based on Tinkoff ecosystem and expected to expand the network’s capacities substantially: by 2023, Tinkoff ecosystem will include over 20 million people (the index stands at 10 million now).

“Superapp Tinkoff is the next stage of development of Tinkoff mobile app which combines classic online banking with other financial services and Tinkoff’s lifestyle services for various areas of life,” the statement reads.


The key element of the superapp will be its own marketplace. Essentially, it is going to be a mini apps store within a superapp.

“Contrary to other Russian ecosystems, we are creating our own way. Instead of mass purchasing businesses in our market, we bring top players into our superapp with the principle “everybody wins”,” said Tinkoff Senior Vice President Artem Yamanov.

The first version of the superapp introduces four new sections at once: “Health”, “Beauty”, “Quests” and “Cleaning”. Tinkoff clients can arrange to see a doctor (at private and state clinics in different Russian cities) or a beautician, order quests and cleaning via the superapp.

Tinkoff also plans to include two new sections by the end of 2019, “Flowers” and “Cosmetics”, in which users can order flower delivery and buy cosmetic products, respectively.


Tinkoff superapp is going to be customized. According to Artem Yamanov, the AI will predict, for instance, what the users need at the given moment depending on the time and location, recent transactions, and dozens of other factors. The AI will suggest options for satisfying these needs, forestalling the clients and saving time.

Users will be able to manage the services in the superapp via voice assistant Oleg, which is promised to become their full-fledged personal financial concierge.
