Forbes presented its first-ever list of the richest people in cryptocurrency in net-worth estimates in ranges. The rating includes 19 businessmen with fortunes making USD 350 million to USD 8 billion (according to the data of January 19, 2018). The results are based on estimated holdings of cryptocurrencies (a few provided proof), post-tax profits from trading crypto-assets and stakes in crypto-related businesses. At the same time, Forbes stressed that “some of their estimates are wide of the mark.”“But this was equally true when we launched the first Forbes 400 list of the wealthiest Americans in 1982. At the time, many people said we couldn’t—or shouldn’t—publish. We did so anyway, firm in the belief that we made the world a better place by shining a light on the invisible rich. And we believe this report on crypto wealth accomplishes the same goal. Fortunes of this magnitude should never be allowed to lurk in the shadows,” Forbes Editor Randall Lane explains. Co-founder of Ripple crytocurrency platform Chris Larsen took the first place with estimated crypto net worth of USD 7.5-8 billion. The second place is taken by Co-founder of Ethereum Joseph Lubin with USD 1-5 billion. CEO of Binance cryptocurrency exchange Changpeng Zhao is in the third place with USD 1.1-2 billion. The rating also involves Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss (USD 900 million-USD 1.1 billion, 4th place), who in 2012 invested in bitcoin part of the money they received in a lawsuit against Mark Zuckerberg. The list also includes CEO of Galaxy Digital Michael Novogratz, who took the 10th place with USD 700 million-USD 1 billion, CEO of Bitfury Valery Vavilov in the 13th place with USD 500-700 million, 24-year-old Creator of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin in the 17th place with USD 400-500 million etc. The partner of Fintech section is Tweet Views 13463
