Banks.am continues  the series of articles about the scholarship program of Luys Foundation. The author of the first article of the series of articles was Jacqueline Karaaslanian, Executive Director of Luys Foundation-Education.

Below are presented the comments of the private companies which sponsor the education programs of the Foundation allowing Armenian young people to study in the best universities of the world.

VivaCell-MTS

VivaCell-MTS has been supporting the Foundation since 2010.

The mission of the Foundation is to boost development of culture, education and business in Armenia by enhancing the education level among Armenian youth. Improvement of higher education is one of the target areas of VivaCell-MTS’ social investments. To this end, we cooperate with the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia and higher education institutions.  

Geoteam

Education in communities is one of the pivotal components of our social programs. We have a number of education programs in communities - from professional re-trainings up to environmental education and sports initiatives for pupils, trainings in agriculture and more targeted education programs.

We believe that education is a pledge for success. Recently, we have decided to engage in larger-scale initiatives in the country apart from local education programs. The cooperation with Luys Foundation was one of the formats of ensuring more targeted approaches to ensure development of education.

Metal mining needs highly qualified workforce including eco- management, geology, engineering, social sciences and economy. Last year, we decided to support Luys Foundation hoping our financial assistance will help several students go to top universities of the world. One day they will implement their knowledge in Armenia’s development, and, why not, improvement of mining industry in Armenia.

We hope our cooperation with Luys Foundation will be ongoing. Working with Luys graduates can be one of the options. Geoteam also offers Luys students an exclusive chance to meet with world-class experts working within the Amulsar project. In near future, we are going to organize such a meeting with famous environmentalists.

We are going to work over the areas of cooperation jointly with Luys and we hope to yield mutually beneficial results.

Orange Armenia

Orange Armenia cooperated with Luys Foundation in 2011, within the education project. As a result, a large number of young gifted Armenians got the chance to study in the best universities of France.

The goal of the project was to support talented Armenian young people to study in the top universities of the world, including French universities and reveal their professional potential.

Our cooperation with the Luys Foundation was only within the mentioned project. Since 2012, Orange Foundation has been collaborating with Armenian state universities and allocating funds to the best students of the universities.

Each year, we grant around 100 scholarships to the best students of Yerevan, Gavar, Goris, Gyumri, Ijevan, Kapan, Vanadzor and Yeghegnadzor universities who have financial issues and need financial support, thus allowing them to continue their education and achieve professional heights.
