Yerevan/Mediamax/. Chairman of the Union of Manufacturers and Importers of Medicine Samvel Zakaryan expressed his content with the new "On Medicine" draft law under which the sphere should shift to GMP standards.

Samvel Zakaryan said that owing to establishment of the standards, the sector will be brought in line with the European environment and will allow starting medicine export to new markets adding that the Union took part in the elaboration of the draft law which will be included into the agenda of one of the coming sessions of the Armenian government.

According to Samvel Zakaryan, the majority of companies are ready to shift to GMP standards and some of them will be given certain period for taking up relevant steps.

"Besides, the Union works out ethical rules of companies importing and manufacturing medicine which will allow eliminating problematic aspects of the field starting from marketing up to the procurement. A commission on ethics comprising representatives of private and public sectors will be established", said Samvel Zakaryan.
