Yerevan/Mediamax/.   11% economic growth is “not a problem” for Armenia, said member of the oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC), former Prime Minister of Armenia Hrant Bagratyan today.

Hrant Bagratyan said that in case the ANC comes to power, Armenia will stop borrowing from donors, the money transfers coming to the country will “get sterilized” and the annual economic growth will make 11-12%, Mediamax reports.

“The idea of people’s capitalism is that people themselves ensure their employment and we plan to increase the number of entrepreneurs from current 55 000 (only 12 000 of them are actively operating) up to 0,5mln (farmers including)”, said Hrant Bagratyan.

Former Prime Minister promised to increase the average salary from current AMD 115 thousand up to AMD 245 thousand (without inflation), pensions – from AMD 29 700 up to AMD 99 000 and the minimum salary – from AMD 32 500 up to AMD 145 000 within next 5 years.

“To achieve such indices, we first of all plan to reform the customs system to liquidate monopolies in the import sector”, said Hrant Bagratyan adding that the metal mining industry taxation also has unrealized potential. The taxes flowing from this sphere can be increased almost 12-fold, the former PM claims.
