Asmus Rotne replaced the new ProCredit Bank Executive Director Bertold Herzfeld in the post.Introducing the newly appointed head of the bank in Yerevan today, the Chairman of the Board of ProCredit Bank Christoph Freytag said that the bank is starting a more dynamic and aggressive policy with the new management team aiming to become the leader of small and medium enterprise in Armenia, Mediamax reports.Christoph Freytag noted that the start of the bank’s operation in Armenia concurred with the global financial-economic crisis and this resulted in the bank’s more cautious policy pursued for 3 years. “Our Armenian bank did well in managing the crisis and now it’s time to change our strategy making it more aggressive and dynamic”, stated Christoph Freytag.Asmus Rotne said that the bank will increase the number of branches from 10 up to 18 till the end of 2012 (a new branch will be opened in Armavir and 7 more branches – in Yerevan). The deposit portfolio of private individual customers is planned to be increased from current USD 21.8mln up to USD 39mln till the end of 2012, and the number of private individual customers- from 11600 up to 14000.According to Asmus Rotne, the bank’s business credit portfolio is planned to be increased from current USD54.5mln up to USD96.5 till the end of 2012. Among the new services of the bank, Asmus Rotne underlined business loans for capital investments with up to 12 years maturity, unprecedented on the Armenian market.In 2002-2007, Asmus Rotne worked in the Georgian ProCredit Bank as a Director of Branch Chain and then – as Deputy General Director. Later, he was appointed Deputy General Director of Romanian ProCredit Bank and Chairman of the Management Board of Moldavian ProCredit Bank. He was born in 1973, took his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in the Aarhus University in Denmark and Master of in Regional Studies in the U.S. Harvard University. He is married, has 2 sons.
