Yerevan/Mediamax/. Container cargo transportation from Russia to Armenia will now be realized twice faster. Mediamax reports that this became possible due to the agreement of Armenian “Apaven” Company with Russian “Transcontainer”. According to Executive Director of “Apaven” Company Gagik Aghajanyan, “Transcontainer” has 130 terminals with container parks all over Russia, and this fact allows transporting cargoes to Vladikavkaz from anywhere in Russia, and to Yerevan from there. Gagik Aghajanyan informed that there was experimental transportation of cargoes realized from Omsk to Yerevan, which lasted 19 days instead of previous 35. Head of the transport company also stressed that reduction in the term of transportation also has effect on its cost, which will reduce by 10-12%. “We strive to reduce prices at the expense of increasing the quality and speed of transportations by 20-25%”. He noted that due to container transportations, the work of “Upper Lars” Control Checkpoint becomes more expedient. He also informed that from May 22, all limitations for transport means, crossing “Upper Lars”, have been lifted, and this allows significantly increasing the volume of transported cargoes. According to him, in March-April, 2010, all in all about 500 unites of transport, including passenger and private transport, crossed the border. Tweet Views 8570
