Yerevan /Mediamax/. Armenia’s GDP in January-February, 2009, as compared to the same period of 2008, cut down by 3.7%.

As the press service of the National Statistical Service of Armenia told Mediamax today, the GDP volume in January-February totaled 282bln 159.7mln AMD.

The volume of industrial production in the republic in January-February, 2009, stood at 83bln 796.9mln AMD, having cut down by 9.7%, as compared to the same period in 2008.

The average monthly salary in Armenia in January-February, 2009, increased by 13.8%, as compared to the same period of 2008, thus making 94 685 AMD.

At that the salary of budget organizations increased by 18.6%, making 80 092 AMD during the accounting period, and the salary of non-budget organizations stood at 116 204 AMD (growth – 7,1%).

Foreign turnover in Armenia in January-February cut down by more than a quarter

The foreign trade turnover of Armenia in January-February, 2009, totaled 155bln AMD or $506.5mln, having cut down by 26,2%, as compared to the same period of 2008.

As the press service of the National Statistical Service of Armenia told Mediamax today, the export volume cut down by 44.8%, making 24.1bln AMD or $79mln in the accounting period: import in January-February, 2009, cut down as compared to the analogous period in 2008, by 21.2%, making 130.9bln AMD or $427,5mln.
 
The deficit of foreign trade balance January-February, 2009, made 106.8bln AMD or $348,5mln, having cut down by 13.17%, as compared to January-February, 2008.
