Yerevan /Mediamax/. Tax proceeds to the state budget of Armenia in 2008 made 614bln AMD (over $2bln). Mediamax reports that the Head of State Revenues Committee of Armenia Gagik Khachatryan said this today, presenting the report on the Committee’s activity for 2008. According to the presented data, the factual growth as compared to 2007 made 24.1% (119.3bln AMD), including customs payments (76.8bln) and tax collections (42.5bln).Gagik Khachatryan noted that after the reformation of tax and customs bodies into a single department, structural reforms started in the Committee, due to which the productivity of work sharply increased. So, following the results of 2008, 7800 control-cash machines (CCM) were placed in the republic, the process of single network of CCM data transfer in trade points was initiated. Head of the Committee noted that last year a hot line was also put into operation, with the help of which 9500 calls were received and found their solution. At that, Gagik Khachatryan stressed that the department did not manage to completely use instruments to struggle against “shadow”. Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsian stated the necessity to make a transition from the stage of compulsory collection of taxes to voluntary payments by taxpayers.
