Yerevan /Mediamax/. Presence of customer base in the regions of Armenia depends on the technologies used by banks##. Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank of Armenia Vache Gabrielyan said this in an interview to Mediamax today, commenting on the words of the Chairman of the Union of Armenian Banks (UAB) Emil Soghomonyan, according to which at present there is not sufficient customer base in Vanadzor and Gyumri for the banks, represented in those towns. “The presence of sufficient customer base depends on the technologies used by banks. In particular, “ProCredit Bank” works by technologies, directed to maintenance of small and medium enterprise”, Vache Gabrielyan stated. According to him, thus, if, for instance, it is not expedient for “Prometey Bank” to open branches in the regions, in case of “ProCredit Bank” the opening of a branch in Vanadzor is quite logical. “Besides, the bank may keep to different strategies in the capital city and the regions, as well as correct its activity depending on whether it is directed to corporate or retail market in the given region”, Vache Gabrielyan stated.
