At a briefing held in Ijevan on July 15, Armenian Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan stated that the enemy had shelled in the direction of “Tavush Textile”, as well as Berd branch of the Arminian Brandy Company. “This is especially worrying and strongly condemnable, since “Tavush Textile” produces medical masks. This is a direct violation of the norms of humanitarian and international humanitarian law especially in conditions of the coronavirus pandemic. “Our private conversations with the civilian population show that they had detected aerial vehicles before the attack, which gives us reason to believe that the Azerbaijani side was aware of the existence of a non-military facility there, producing masks for medical and health purposes,” said Arman Tatoyan. He also pointed out that the shelling took place during the day, when workers were in the facility. “It is obvious that the purpose of the attack was to inflict targeted damage,” said Tatoyan.
