Interview of the Director of “Peugeot” autosalon Armen Asatrian to Mediamax Agency and Banks.am portal

-Mr. Asatrian, it al already 5 years that “Karkomavto” has been presenting Peugeot brand in Armenia. What is your assessment of the position of Peugeot in Armenia, can we say that Peugeot has found its customers here?

- Peugeot has been officially presented in Armenia for already 5 years, and one can say with confidence that it occupies a special place in the Armenian market and has its own customers. As a proof, one can consider the annually growing volumes of sales, the gratitude of the customers, the quality post-sale service.

By the way, Peugeot is one of the few car brands, presented in Armenia, the cars of which present 2 years’ guarantee for all the units without limitation of the run. Today, this is the most important and at the same time favorable arguments for the customers, taking into account the condition of the roads in our country.

On the event of the 5th anniversary of activities in Armenia, this year Peugeot held a number of actions in Armenia. I would like to single out the unprecedented action, held in June-July, when we offered a credit with 7% pre-pay and 7 years of repayment term. As of today, not a single car dealer has yet presented such an opportunity for its customers. Then another action took place – 7% discount for all the models, which also enjoyed great attention of the potential customers.

And this is not all. We are preparing another surprise for our customers, and this time it will be a New Year surprise.

- What is the dynamics of Peugeot sales in Armenia? How many cars were sold this year?

- This year, we already have sold 100 cars, and we are going to sell 20 more of them.

- According to you, what is the real potential of Peugeot car sales in Armenia for the nearest future?

- I can say with confidence that it is quite high. In the first place, this can be reasoned by the fact that Peugeot has wide model range, which includes cars for people of various layers of population and with various tastes. Peugeot also has another important, and, one can say, a monopoly peculiarity – women like this car first of all because of its original and beautiful design. Since the number of women-drivers increases in our country, and I hope the tendency will continue, correspondingly, the volumes of our sales will also grow.

- What models enjoy the greatest demand in Armenia? Recently you started the sales of Peugeot207. What results have you achieved?

- At present, Peugeot 206 sedan, 307, 407, Partner, which stand out for their quality indices, are tested by the time and have found their consumers in our market, enjoy the greatest demand. Three months ago the new 207 model appeared in the market, and it was appreciated by the car enthusiasts as well. This model, I am sure, will also be a success, which is already obvious due to the rapidly growing interest for it. The engines of the given cars are a joint production of Peugeot and BMW, and stand out for high efficiency and low consumption of fuel. The external and inner design of the car once again proves that the French style always occupies leading positions.

- What novelties will be offered to the consumers in 2008?

- The year of 2008 will be serious and responsible, since new models are expected: Peugeot 308 and off-road car 4007. 308 is the continuation of 307 model, although it has undergone considerable changes. One can say that this will be a special car. What concerns 4007, this is the first off-road car from Peugeot, which will become a serious competitor for other representatives of the given class and will be a great success due to its equipment and appearance.

The sale of these two models is planned to start in 2008. They will certainly be exhibited in Peugeot car salon and, besides, we will necessarily provide the customers the opportunity of a test-drive.
