Chairwoman of the State Tourism Committee of Armenia Hripsime Grigoryan has summed up the results achieved in the sector in 2018, saying that the number of visitors grew by 8.8% in the first nine months of the year.

1,275,209 people visited Armenia from January to September this year as opposed to the 1,172,402 in the same period of 2017.

The countries that contributed the most visitors are Russia (524,423), Georgia (233,125), Iran (132,829), the United States (46,138) and Ukraine (24,308).

According to Hripsime Grigoryan, the tourist flows from three specific countries have seen the largest increase this year: India (131%), China (107%) and Kazakhstan (83%).
