A plastic waste recycling facility has been established in Kapan, Armenia, a first of its kind in the country.The Delegation of the European Union to Armenia has revealed via its Facebook page that the recycling facility is another initiative of the EU and its partners aimed at the development of marzes and the creation of a green economy.Plastic waste will be recycled into building materials which will be turned into curbstones, street and roof tiles.The facility will receive plastic raw materials through the plastic waste separation and collection infrastructure in 9 communities of Vayots Dzor and Syunik.The first batch of curbstones and street tiles will be used to improve public spaces in the communities that have supplied the waste.This initiative will create 35 permanent jobs and ensure the protection of the environment.
