The Sharoyan-Saryan company has turned from an importer into an exporter with the support of Business Armenia, supplying sweets and spices to several markets worldwide under the brand Halep.Business Armenia has noted that Halep received the first export order at the Eurasian Week expo in Astana in 2017. In February 2018, the company signed an export contract with a French partner organization after talks at the business forum in Geneva. The negotiations with Swiss partners are currently ongoing.After registering in the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP), Halep started making regular exports to the United States.“The company has already been registered in the electronic Registered Exporter (REX) System of EU GSP+ preferential trade scheme that operates since this January. We supported that registration and we expect Halep to successfully use the simplified privileged regime of exports of goods worth up to EUR 6 000,” said Business Armenia CEO Armen Avak Avakian.Founder and CEO of Sharoyan-Saryan Gevorg Saryan attached importance to getting an export opportunity and entering international market. “Currently we export the produce from Armenia - bakhlava, lokum, nougat, eastern sweets and Armenian spices - to 5 foreign states. This gives us the opportunity to develop,” he said. Exporters’ Support Manager at Business Armenia, Ms. Anahit Mkrtchyan noted that Halep store chain is expanding.“The network currently has stores in Yerevan, Vanadzor, Gyumri and is planning to open in Artsakh,” she said.
