The National Bank of Azerbaijan is considering the application of one of the banks for the VTB to enter its capital, Head of VTB Andrei Kostin stated.

Mediamax reports referring ITAR-TASS that Kostin did not clarify the name of the bank, only noting that it is included in the list of ten largest banks of Azerbaijan.

Head of VTB stated that talks are held on purchasing banks in Kazakhstan, at that not ruling out the possibility that a bank will open there “from scratch”. Besides, VTB holds talks on purchasing banks in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Kostin reminded that “by mid-2008 VTB plans to open banks in all CIS stated, where we are not yet present”.
