Yerevan, October 12 /Mediamax/. Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan are among the states that are receiving the considerable part of the money transfers made from Russia. Mediamax reports that the President of the Association of Russian Banks (ARB) Garegin Tosunian said this in Yerevan today, speaking at the International Interbank Conference “Money Transfers. Retail Banking Services”. He stated that in the first quarter of 2006 the volume of money transfers, realized from Russia and vice versa, made $815mln and $271mln correspondingly. Garegin Tosunian stated that “Russian Post”, “Sberbank”, “Anelik”, “Contact” and “Money Gram” are the 5 most popular payment systems. The ARB President noted that about 40% of the transfers are realized by post, 35% - by means of banks and 25% - by payment systems. Speaking at the conference, the Head of the IMF Representative Office in Armenia Nienke Oomes said that 70% of all money transfers to Armenia are received from Russia, and 15% - from the USA.
